Description
BASIC POSITION DUTIES:
There is a need for personnel who can play a central role in quickly and accurately identifying changes in customer demand and encouraging relevant internal departments to make advance preparations. Specifically, playing a central role in advance preparations for the launch of new vehicle models, model changes to existing vehicle models, and design changes to parts. This will enable rapid detection of demand spikes or drops in advance and is expected to reduce backlogs and waste caused by excess parts. In addition, with the rapid increase in imports from Japan and other Asian countries, there is a need for personnel capable of inventory management, logistics tracking, and cost management for imported goods.
- Obtain and analyze demand changes in a timely manner from SWS-USA and each division of the wire harness business unit.
(New model rump up, Model change , BOM change , Design change, Market expansion)
- Analyzing the impact of new models and model changes and using this to prepare for mass production within CBU
- Analyze the impact of new models and model changes to help prepare for mass production and follow up with suppliers in Japan, Asia and North America
- Accurately grasp the initial demand for newly developed parts and design changed parts as CBU, clarify to both inside and outside the company how many and by when, and play a central role in preventing confusion at the start-up stage.
- Monitor imports from Japan and Asia, detect abnormal changes and take prompt action.
- Collaborate with logistics companies and logistics departments to optimize shipping costs from Asia and Japan.
- Work with SWS-USA and the WH department to improve work process for accurately identifying changes in demand.
- Continuously develop and improve systems that can efficiently use data related to changes in demand and material control.
- Other duties as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
8-10 years' experience in material control and 3+ years' experience in management in the automotive industry.
Have basic knowledge of the supply chain in the automotive industry.
Have basic knowledge and practical experience in oversea import transportation and trade.
Have experience playing a key role in mass production readiness projects in the automotive industry.
Bilingual in English and Japanese, with at least 5 years of experience in business with Japan.
